Summer Activities
A Ride on the Historic Pelion Train
One of the region’s most memorable experiences is a journey aboard Pelion’s historic narrow-gauge train, affectionately known as Moutzouris. The route runs from Ano Lechonia to Milies, covering approximately 15 kilometres through Pelion’s lush green landscapes.
Along the way, the train passes through forests, ravines, stone bridges and old tunnels, with an intermediate stop at Ano Gatzea.
One of the highlights of the journey is the impressive Taxiarchis Bridge, also known as the De Chirico Bridge. On arrival in Milies, visitors can follow the traditional cobbled paths, wander through the village’s picturesque lanes and soak up the distinctive atmosphere of Pelion.
Horse Riding
Horse riding is another wonderful way to experience the region’s natural beauty. Near Kala Nera, guided rides follow scenic trails alongside rivers, beneath the shade of plane trees and through traditional olive groves. Some routes even extend down to the beach.
